Men paying more

New research has revealed that men are paying far more money for their insurance policies because they are failing to shop around.

Research from Confused.com found that men are paying an average of 26 per cent more per policy, per year for their life insurance than women.

However, this is not the only area where men are losing out, with 19 per cent leaving their Christmas shopping until the week before, 78 per cent admitting to buying clothes without trying them on first and 24 per cent defaulting to their favourite shop, compared to 48 per cent of women who shop around.

Matthew Lloyd, head of life insurance at Confused.com, urged men to reconsider their shopping philosophy.

"Men complain that women take too long shopping," he said.

"But men need to learn from women if they want to get the best deals – on life insurance, but also day to day items."
